The best electric scooter brands
The electric scooter industry is full of competition. Among electrical personal transportation devices, it may have some of the widest variety of models and solutions. In previous articles, we listed where to buy some of the best scooters on the market, but now we’re going to widen our view a bit to talk about some of the best brands.
The best electric scooter brand on a budget
If you’re trying to keep your costs down, Razor offers some of the most competitively priced options around. Some of their scooters jump into the $500 range, but most of them sit below that number. They offer options that will set you back less than $300 for a product built for adults with much cheaper choices in the kid’s category. If you want to get an electric scooter but aren’t trying to get fancy with it, Razor has got you covered.
The best electric scooter brand for style
Segway’s products look like something pulled from the movie Wall-e. Almost everything they make is smooth curves and futuristic lighting. They carry more premium products in both the way they look and their functional design. We recently wrote about one of their most innovative scooters we’ve seen hit the shelves: the Ninebot Kickscooter T15. This is their latest entry to the ultra-light and portable electric scooter market, and they knocked it out of the park.

The best electric scooter brand for power
Nanrobot makes scooters that are more powerful and have more range than almost any other brand. One of their top-performing products, the Nanrobot D4+, has a range of 45 miles and can carry a max rider weight of 330 pounds. That kind of power is pretty ridiculous, and the price reflects it at around $1200. Part of the reason this scooter can do so much is it features two, 1000-watt motors (one in each wheel). These work together for extra torque so that the Nanrobot D4+ can reach a top speed of 40 mph. So, to be clear, DO NOT get something like this if you’re a new rider. Best to stick to Razor or Segway if you have safety in mind. And we always recommend keeping safety in mind.
The best electric scooter brand for range
Apollo offers some great range with their scooters. The Apollo Explore has a range of 34 miles with a 1000-watt motor in the rear wheel. In many ways, this seems like a runner up to the Nanrobot D4+, but it provides impressive power with a much smaller overall device weight. That can be attributed to the fact that it sports only one motor instead of two, but getting only ten fewer miles with half the motors is a pretty impressive feat. It can also handle a decent amount of off-roading, though it will cut down on the distance you’ll be able to go before the battery runs out.
If you’re in the market for an electric scooter, these are some of the best brands due to a few different criteria. In the end, you can find a little of everything you want from every brand, but some do it better than others. If you’re looking to pick something up, the company websites should offer several purchasing options, such as ordering directly from the manufacturer, finding a local reseller, or purchasing it from their online store(s). Hopefully, this is enough to get you started.
