Troubleshooting a SolarEdge HD Wave inverter

You have a SolarEdge HD Wave inverter. Now that we know what type of inverter you have, we’re going to have you check a few things on it.

Check the functionality of your SolarEdge HD Wave inverter

1. On the inverter, locate the black, circular switch and make sure it’s pointed to the “ON” position.
  1. Now look at the little screen in the center of the inverter.

The green power indicator should be lighting up and showing information on it. It may look something like this:

  1. If the screen isn’t lighting up, it could mean that it’s not getting power.

Locate the red power switch positioned behind the inverter, on the left-side (you may have to crane your neck a little to see it).

  1. Check to ensure that the red power switch is pointing to the ON (1) position.

The ON (1) OFF (0) indicator is very small, but you can see it on the front face of the inverter, just below the area to where the red switch is pointing.

If both the black and red switches point to “ON,” but the screen on your inverter still isn’t getting power, Contact Us and let us know what you’re seeing. We’ll send someone out to fix it. Now that we’ve checked the functionality of your SolarEdge HD Wave inverter, we need to check to see if it’s connected to the internet.

Check the internet connection of your SolarEdge HD Wave inverter

To check the internet connection of your SolarEdge HD Wave inverter:

1. On the front of your inverter, locate the ▲▼ arrows just below the screen.
  1. Press the ▼ arrow to scroll through the different screens until you see the word “Server.”

If you see the phrase “Server: LAN,” it means your SolarEdge inverter uses a communication gateway to connect the solar energy system to the internet. Click the link to go to the next step in Troubleshooting a SolarEdge system with a wired gateway connection.
